Types of fees
Platform fee (charged to the customer)
XO charges a platform fee on each transaction to support the platform’s infrastructure, development, and operations. This fee is:- Added on top of your ticket price at checkout.
- Shown transparently to the customer before they pay.
- Configurable by XO at the platform level (your account manager can share your specific rate).
- Ticket price: €20
- Platform fee: 10% + €0.30 per transaction
- Total charged to customer: €22.30
Payment processing fee (Stripe)
Stripe charges a fee for processing each payment. Depending on your account configuration, this fee may be:- Absorbed by XO and factored into the platform fee, or
- Passed to the customer as an additional line item
Venue fee (optional)
You can optionally add your own fee on top of the ticket price. This is useful if you want to charge a booking fee without increasing the base ticket price.- Configured in Settings → Booking Fees (if available for your account).
- Shown to customers at checkout separately from the ticket price.
What does the customer see at checkout?
Before paying, the customer sees a clear breakdown:What do I receive as a venue?
You receive the ticket price you set, minus any deductions:- XO platform fees are deducted before the payout reaches your Stripe account.
- Stripe’s own processing fees are deducted by Stripe.
- Ticket price: €20.00
- Platform fee (10%): -€2.00 (collected from customer, not from you)
- Stripe processing fee (~1.5% + €0.25): -€0.55
- Your payout: ~€19.45
Exact rates depend on your contract with XO and your Stripe account’s fee structure (which varies by country). Contact your XO account manager for your specific rates.
