# Account and profile settings

> Create an account, reset your password, update your profile, and manage account security.

Manage your XO account, update your profile, and handle security settings.

## Creating an account

1. Download the XO app or visit [thexo.app](https://www.thexo.app).
2. Tap **Sign Up** and enter your email address and a password.
3. Check your inbox for a verification email and tap the link to confirm your email.
4. Complete your profile: add your name and a profile photo.
5. You're ready to browse and book events.

## Logging in

1. Open the XO app.
2. Tap **Log In** and enter your email and password.
3. Tap **Log In** to access your account.

If you've forgotten your password, tap **Forgot password** on the login screen.

## Resetting your password

1. On the login screen, tap **Forgot password**.
2. Enter your email address and tap **Send reset link**.
3. Check your inbox for the password reset email.
4. Tap the link in the email and enter a new password.
5. Log in with your new password.

If you don't receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

## Updating your profile

1. In the app, tap the **Profile** tab.
2. Tap **Edit Profile**.
3. Update your:
   * First name and last name
   * Profile photo (tap your photo to upload a new one from your camera or gallery)
   * Instagram handle (optional)
4. Tap **Save** to apply your changes.

## Setting your preferences

You can set your music and event preferences so XO shows you events that match your taste:

1. Go to the **Profile** tab.
2. Tap **Personal Preferences**.
3. Select your preferred music styles and event types.
4. Save your preferences.

## Changing your password

1. Go to the **Profile** tab.
2. Tap **Account Security**.
3. Tap **Change Password**.
4. Enter your current password, then your new password (twice to confirm).
5. Tap **Save**.

## Phone number verification

Some bookings require phone number verification before you can complete your booking. If prompted:

1. Enter your mobile phone number.
2. You'll receive a verification code by SMS.
3. Enter the code in the app.
4. Your number is verified and you can proceed with the booking.

## Deleting your account

If you'd like to permanently delete your account:

1. Go to the **Profile** tab.
2. Tap **Account Security**.
3. Tap **Delete Account**.
4. Confirm your decision when prompted.

> **Warning:** Deleting your account is permanent. All your booking history and entry passes will be removed. Make sure you no longer need these before proceeding.

## Privacy and terms

You can view the XO Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions at any time:

1. Go to the **Profile** tab.
2. Scroll down and tap **Privacy Policy** or **Terms & Conditions**.
